The new Apps I am making are great fun as apps tend to be, because of the animation, a myriad of exciting illustrations and interaction resulting in feedback. I strongly recommend you search for "Friendly Phonics" on the app store for iPad. The second one should be out shortly and the third is being developed as I write this. However, this package, Dead Easy Phonics, is wonderful and can be used in the classroom for a whole class as well as individually and it will be several years before I am able to convert the whole of this course into apps.
It has been trialed in several schools including classes of Australian Indigenous students and all students become literate very quickly.

If you can tick more than half on either test then your child has a learning difference. There are many different styles of learning. If your kid or student is at risk of having dyslexia, dyspraxia, Auditory Processing Disorder or ADD then be pleased, because these are the nicest set of kids and the ones most likely to become super rich or famous when they grow up, a list of whom can be found on the home page in the text. But they are also the kids that find it hard to learn the way mainstream education tries to teach them. They do not learn easily from the whole word approach. They have short-term memory problems and tend to be more right brained.

This has been written gradually during the 40 years that I have been working with dyslexic kids and adults. It is the culmination of my life’s work so far. This is for PC and Mac. There are no animations or tricky computer technology. you just print out spages and listen to the audio files at the same time.
It is designed to be enjoyable. Kids learn best when they are having fun.
It is also very simple with few instructions that are all in Plain English.
It can be read to you, so please read or listen to all instructions carefully.
Why phonics?
If your kid has a learning difference, if your kid is Dyslexic, Dysgraphic, Dyspraxic, ADD or ADHD then s/he will struggle with even basic literacy until s/he learns phonics.

This starts at the beginning, with basic letter sounds and goes through hundreds of spelling rules, in a structured and fun way, with games for learning irregular or “stupidly spelt” words and for teaching typing, writing sentences, simple poems and stories. It also advises how to do each activity, where to include it in the program and details of why it should be done a certain way.
I advise that you start the first printable worksheets at the pre-school age and continue it throughout primary school. But it is suitable for any age and can also be used for adult literacy.
