“Hi Dawn I recently purchased your book and I just love it. It is so user friendly and I just want to keep reading it. I am a teacher assistant at a secondary school and have been working with a year 8 girl who is dyslexic. Your book was mentioned to me in the holidays and after purchasing it can see that it is going to be very useful. So thank you.”

Dyslexia - how to win is an A4 book with 184 pages including illustrations.

This book gives you thousands of ideas and practical advice to help both parents and teachers work successfully with both dyslexic and dyspraxic kids.
Originally commissioned by SPELD WA, I tried to discuss just about everything I knew about dyslexia in this book at the time of writing. And I knew a lot because I had been teaching and assessing dyslexics for over 40 years and I am severely dyslexic. I also made sure that it is in plain English and easy to understand. I deliberately ignored long, scientific or technical jargon.

Parents

If you are a parent of a dyslexic child then it is essential that you know as much as possible about dyslexia in order to best help your child. The more you know the better able you are at helping and understanding this strange child you have in your midst. But more importantly the better you are able to fight for what s/he needs at school and college. Do not assume your child’s teacher knows how to teach dyslexic students. If you want to help your kids teacher even more than read the book to her!
