Make creative writing enjoyable
 
Please do not ask your kid or your class to keep a journal. Not only do kids find this really boring, but in order for them to be able to do this parents are forced to do something interesting every day, or what do they write about?
 
 
Plenty of writers are dyslexic
 
Your kid could be a budding storyteller. Plenty of writers are dyslexic. We have problems with spelling but not story telling. All kids need is a start, a suggestion of what to write and you will be surprised at the interesting, imaginative, descriptive stories they produce.
 
It’s way more fun that most English worksheets or activity sheets and makes really good activities for the classroom. It helps develop different styles of learning. I have been using it in my tutoring for decades and kids find it a cool writing game and way better than most writing activities.
 
Can be used as part of a literacy program and works also for teaching adult literacy. I use “My fun Dictionary” with it and put any words the kids cannot spell or spellcheck into their own dictionary. You have to print out and cut out up the words.
